SUMMARY:12th Annual Steinhoisting Challenge with Sam Adams & Columbus Day Wknd Schedule!
DESCRIPTION:Since 2014\, it’s been tradition for us and the Boston Beer Company to pair up on Columbus Day Weekend and host a Stein Hoisting Challenge.  What is this challenge?  Boston Beer brings glass steins and fills them up with Boston beer and the contestants (women & men) hold the steins with their arms straight out for as long as they possibly can. Top male & female longest times win a German stein and swag!  It’s highly competitive and fun at the same time! \nHere’s a list of past record holders. \n2014 –Joe 6 mins 8 seconds- Bentley was 6 mins 1 second – first year of competition we did not have a separate women’s competition \n2015 – Jeff 6 mins 13 seconds\, Amazon 3 mins 23 seconds \n2016 – Jeff 4 mins 53 seconds\, Lisa (Bentley’s daughter) 4 mins 40 seconds \n2017 – Bentley 6 mins 8 seconds\, Lisa (Bentley’s daughter) 4 mins  33 seconds. This year we started only doing one round.  In other words\, the contestant’s highest time remained\, they did not have to compete again.  It was hard to go for other rounds. \n2018 – Emilio 6 mins 19 seconds\, Lisa (Bentley’s daughter) 5 mins 9 seconds \n2019 – Tracy 4 mins\, Roger 5 mins 2 seconds \n2020 (pandemic year) – Frenchie 10 mins 16 secs.  Bartender Lala 4 mins 19 seconds. This year due to the pandemic\, Boston Beer did not come and we adjusted using our own glass steins (not as heavy).  We wore masks and social distanced.  87-year-old TOMKAT hoisted for  8 mins 57 seconds and could have gone longer\, but he thought it was over! \n2021 Mary 4 mins 38 seconds\, Keith 5 mins 6 secs \n2022 Lisa Warren 5 mins 7 seconds\, Rob Deroscia farmer from NM 6 mins 2 seconds \n2023 Whitey 11 mins 56 seconds\, Lisa Warren 6 mins 35 secs (different judge\, who was lenient) \n2024 Lisa Warren 5 mins 37 seconds\, Bob K 6 mins 39 seconds (first time from Massachusetts\, having dinner with friends) 40 contestants\, Judge Josh \n
